PURE PEACE & NATURE ON A FARM

Welcome to our idyllic nature camping right by Lake Edersee in Waldeck! Surrounded by the unique UNESCO World Heritage Site Kellerwald-Edersee National Park, you’ll experience real peace, nature and freedom here in Asel-Süd – perfect if you want to escape everyday stress.

Our rustic, listed farmhouse is located at the end of a cul-de-sac – just 200 m from the lake – with no through traffic at all. On site you’ll find everything a camper could wish for: a cozy restaurant, a small shop with fresh bread rolls, play and sports areas, a sauna, a table tennis room and a dog play area.

FAMILIES & ANIMAL LOVERS

There are still plenty of animals here – many of them easy to pet up close! Children love entering the goat area, walking with our donkeys, horse riding and swimming. Sometimes raccoons even peek around your tent – and occasionally an escaped pony too… Of course, your beloved dog will fit in perfectly as well.

SEEKING QUIET | Nature CAMPING EDERSEE

Because you get spacious open meadow pitches here and the site is not overcrowded even in high season, you’ll find the peace you deserve. In the evening, end your day by the campfire – under a sparkling starry sky.

ACTIVE HOLIDAY | CAMPING EDERSEE

Do you like getting up early with birdsong? The area offers many well-marked hiking and cycling routes that lead you straight through the national park. Or would you rather spend a day on the water? Then you can rent a boat or SUP, go fishing or enjoy a swim.

Thanks to our location at the reservoir, you can also experience the low water level in late summer – a fascinating natural phenomenon. This creates special flora and fauna that you can best discover on a walk across the lakebed. A popular destination is the old “Atlantis Bridge” that emerges then.

  • Open all year for self check-in via online booking
  • Public holiday rule: minimum stay required
  • Quiet hours: barrier closed from 10 pm – 7 am
  • Sanitary facilities: public toilets flushed with Lake Edersee water and solar-powered showers (€0.50 coin)
  • Fresh water & wastewater: central service points for all guests
